It was #map books like these that kids would pour over to get a sense of #adventure. As time went on some of us thought it would be great to be a #cartographer. Who knew that when you grew up and made maps, that you could do all the great stuff with #GIS and #spatial #analytics. Some of us still walk by the store shelf and see the map books that drew us to the #geospatial industry at a young age. Even when we see the crumpled corners of the map book in the trunk of the car, you have to look at it and probably begin to analyze it for new growth since publication, and also look for errors - because we have that acute ability towards attention to detail. If maps were a fashion, we would be professional haute couture #geogeeks. @redearthgeo #geography

#GIS & #Geospatial #presentations can go south for many reasons, most common is poor preparation. Some advice to aid in your geo-presentation; 1.Know your audience, because this is about them, not you. Use words to meet the audience level: technical jargon vs plain old layman terms, or academic vs non-academic. 2.Present one key concept to the audience. People in your presentation will remember very little of what they hear, so keep it simple & focus on one idea and ignore everything that doesn't support that idea. #maps #mapping #cartography #geogeek #geography @redearthgeo
